"Even The Smallest One Can Change The World" - Beatrix Potter
These are the words that continue to inspire me throughout my life. The ones that make me keep dreaming that somehow my impact will change the world. Then along came my unconditional loving dog Koko, and these words finally took on their true meaning.
Koko is 10 years old, and she’s a mix between the loyal friendly Shih Tzu, and bold confident Bichon Frise called Shichon, or nicknamed “Teddybear”. My whole life I always wanted a dog, and specifically one that looked like a little bear. When my family and I arrived for the first time to see Koko we were appalled by how she looked. Recently shaven looking like a rat, and not moving, we asked “what is going on?” because every other dog was barking like no tomorrow. The worker told us she is just laid back and very sweet. We put her down to play, and she finally started to warm up. After a little play session she ended up falling asleep in my brother’s arms, and that’s when we knew she was the perfect one.
Koko couldn’t have arrived at a better time in my life. There were many changes going on in my environment, and having a new responsibility of a small dog helped me grow as a person. When there were hard days ahead she was the one who always stuck right by my side soothing and calming me.
To say my little dog changed my life would be an understatement. However, the small one did change “the world”, my world. I now want to spread the joys and benefits of owning a “Lil Dog” because I know how much meaning it brought to my life. I want the rest of the world to experience that same meaning with one lil dog step at a time.
Just remember that even the little shaven ones can sometimes be the most beautiful, kind, loving dogs.

And even when you find them,
It is wise and kind to be somewhat blind,
And look for the virtue behind them;” – Ella Wheeler Wilcox
